Cameron Duncan

Well guys I want to tell you about Cameron Duncan. I discovered this amazing guy in the extras of The Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King. Now, I want to explain a little bit about his life.
I warn you that it is a very sad story.

Cameron Duncan was a boy from New Zealand who loved softball and making films.
One day, when he was 15 or 16, the doctors detected an osteosarcoma. He was treated with chemotherapy and the cancer disappeared. But, one day, the cancer returned.

He made two amazing short films:

The first, DFK6498 is an awesome short where he compares the cancer with the prison.



In the second, Strike Zone, he knew he was dying and he wanted to make a short film about his favourite sport. This short is about the last wish of a boy who is dying. He wants to make a softball team that can win the league.
(The subtitles are in English because I can't find them in Spanish. I'll try to solve it)



Cameron died days after he finished filming this short film.
He died in 2003 at the age of 17.

Cameron has been an inspiration for many people in the world and the people of The Lord of The Rings too. He was the inspiration for the lyrics of the Oscar-Winning song "Into the West" for the film The Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King.

This story is so sad, but it's about a boy who even when everything wast lost, he kept doing what he wanted to do and did not let anything stop him. He wanted to make that last short film and overcame all the obstacles that the disease imposed and made that short film.

For this reason, I think it's a good idea to share this short film with you.

Steve Jobs

Today we all woke up with the new about the death of this awesome man who has changed the technology.

I just want to remember him from here.

Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) was an American computer entrepreneur and inventor. He was co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. Jobs also previously served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company in 2006, following the acquisition of Pixar by Disney. He was credited in Toy Story (1995) as an executive producer.


In the late 1970s, Jobs — along with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Mike Markkula and others — designed, developed, and marketed one of the first commercially successful lines of personal computers, the Apple II series. In the early 1980s, Jobs was among the first to see the commercial potential of Xerox PARC's mouse-driven graphical user interface, which led to the creation of the Macintosh. After losing a power struggle with the board of directors in 1985, Jobs resigned from Apple and founded NeXT, a computer platform development company specializing in the higher-education and business markets. Apple's subsequent 1996 buyout of NeXT brought Jobs back to the company he co-founded, and he served as its CEO from 1997 until August 2011.



In 1986, he acquired the computer graphics division of Lucasfilm Ltd which was spun off as Pixar Animation Studios. He remained CEO and majority shareholder at 50.1 percent until its acquisition by The Walt Disney Company in 2006. Consequently Jobs became Disney's largest individual shareholder at 7 percent and a member of Disney's Board of Directors. On August 24, 2011, Jobs announced his resignation from his role as Apple's CEO.

On October 5, 2011, Jobs died in California at age 56 of pancreatic cancer.

Goodbye!

Well guys, our time in high school is ending and I just want to say goodbye to everyone. We've grown up together in many aspects and ways, and now it is time to say goodbye and just grow up by ourselves and for ourselves or with different people. Some of us have shared fifteen years of our lives together, some of us have shared six, others two and others just one. But despite this fact, I have to say that I've really enjoyed your company and I hope you've enjoy mine as well. I just hope that we'll remain friends and that we'll celebrate our victories together and that we'll support each other when one of us needs it. As you all know, I've done something as my farewell present for you, so here it is.

Damien Walters

I just found a video of this guy and I thought you would love it.

Know a little bit of him:

Damien Walters is a former British gymnast of Derbyshire specialising in tumbling. He participated in four Trampoline World Championships. He won the European Title with the British team in 2006.

He also worked in many movies as a stuntman. In 2010, he won the Taurus World Stunt Awards for "Best Fight" in the film Ninja Assassin'

Damien Walters also has a passion for Parkour and Freerunning where he incorporates his gymnastic skills as well as his stuntman abilities. On YouTube he is one of the most watched Freerunners with his videos having a total of over 30 million views.

Currently he is running his own gym in Derbyshire and shooting films.

Advantages and disadvantages of being a large family

Is it a good thing being a large family? Or are there only disadvantages?

Maybe almost everybody has asked this question to himself once in a life. If you have a small family, you wonder what it is like is having a large one. In contrast, if you have a large family, you wonder what it is like having a small one. In any case, there are advantages and disadvantages of being a large family.

On the one hand, having a large family could be difficult 'cause you have to share your parents’ attention with all your siblings, and this could be really difficult, especially when you are a toddler. And of course, it is most likely that you have to share your toys and stuff too. In addition, in a large family there are a lot of things to do at home, so that means that you have to do your chores on a regular basis.

Another disadvantage could be the space in the house and privacy. That could be a problem if you live in a not pretty big house or in a normal flat, as almost everybody in our city. In that case, you would have to share a room with one sibling at least, and sure there would be a lot of problems with the bathroom.

On the other hand, having a large family could be so cool and sure you could have a lot of fun. One of the clearest advantages is that you will always have someone to talk with. Besides, if you have a problem, you have a lot of siblings who can help you. You will always have someone who will take care of you, who will protect you.
Another advantage is that as you have more chores and responsibilities with other people, that make you more responsible and considered.

To sum up, having a large family has some disadvantages, but in my opinion, the advantages are more satisfactory, so this makes up for it.

My perfect job

My perfect job isn’t an office job, because I need to move myself constantly or I get stressed. I’m a pretty active person, so my perfect job has to let me move and don’t be quiet for too long. For this reason I think my perfect job could be a sport monitor.

I really love doing sport and I have practised many of them since I was about 3. I also love watching sport on TV, all kind of them and I know a lot about all of them.

My perfect job could be with kids, as a sport monitor of a summer camp or something similar, because I really enjoy playing with them and I used to get on well with kids.

Actually, I already did a similar job once, doing sport activities for kids in my high school, and I really had a good time. It was a good experience.

I think that kind of job could be suitable for me because I even have a motivator title.
I could do this job with kids from 1 to 12 years old, at first, because these are the ages I have experience with.

I’m really caring with little kids and I give the olders ones the freedom that they need but always keeping an eye on them.

I’m reliable, so parents will be okay letting me their kids.

In conclusion, that my perfect job.

If one day I find a job like this, even it its only for a summer, I would be extremely happy. And if the pay is good, even better more!

Iker Casillas

Iker Casillas is a well-known Spanish goalkeeper. He has dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was born in Móstoles (Madrid) on 20 May, 1981.

He started playing soccer at the age of 9 with the Real Madrid C.F., the team of his life. He passed through all the lower categories till debut on the first team in 12/09/1999 against the Atlético de Madrid. That season he won the “Trofeo Bravo” to the Best Promise of the year and became the youngest goalkeeper who played the Champions League and won it.
The same year 1999 he won the juvenile World Championship with Spain.
In the season 2001/02, he won the Champion League again. He wasn't the first goalkeeper, but he entered at the game when César (first goalkeeper) got injured. Casillas became the big hero of the final, saving more than 4 goals in a minute.

In 2009 he equalled the record of Paco Buyo playing 454 matches.
He made his debut with the Spanish team on 3 June, 2000. He started playing as a first goalkeeper in the World Championship in 2002. The highlight was his match against Irlanda, stopping three penalties.

He played 116 matches with the Spanish team. He is the captain, and as a captain he was the responsible to take the Eurocup cup in 2008 and the World Championship cup in 2010.
Now, he's considered the best goalkeeper in the world.
He's also known as San Iker, San Casillas, El Santo (the saint) for all his awesome stops.

Jordan Rice, little hero

I heard about this story today and I think that everybody has to know about this little hero, as his dad said.

Jordan Rice has become the hero of the Australian floods these days. He was 13 years old, was so shy and rarely said a word when he was with people he didn't know. But last Monday, he had the strength to ask a complete stranger to save his family before him. That was the last thing he said before the water current dragged him.

The car where he, his mother and brother were travelling was stalled by water. Only a man had the courage to tie his body to a rope and go to rescue them. Jordan didn't know how to swim and he had panic to water but he achieved to catch the man's hand and he begged the man to save his little brother Blake (10 years old) and his mom first.
The man managed to save Blake, but when he came back to save Jordan, the rope broke.

When the Emergency Service arrived it was too late. The car had disappeared swallowed by the mud. Dona (the mom) and Jordan could hold in a tree, but the kid forces disappeared and when his mom tried to catch him, both disappeared.

The story was on Thursday in all the pages of British dailies, surrendered to the courage of the child.
McErlean Warren, one of the men who participated in the rescue work, still has nailed the look of the child. He explains through tears that there was no more time.


I know that its a too sad story to end the week but I think that we need to know about it, to think about it and realise the things we have and realise what the important things in our life are, the family.

Hey guys! I found a really beautiful song about the relationship between a father and son, and I tried to make a great video. I don't know why, but this video was so difficult to make for me, so I'm not really happy with the final result. The competiton between Spanish TV channels.

Lately, two of the most important TV channels in Spain have started a war for the audience. They take it so seriously, that they don’t even care to pay a penalty to change the schedule. Personally, I think that this is stupid. Doing this, they just get people confused, and those people don't watch anything because they don't know what is on TV now.

Firstly, TV is for entertainment, not to make people get stressed because they have to be all the time trying to find out what is on TV tonight, or how they can do it to watch their two favourites programs that now are emitted on the same day.

At first, channels just took care to put a new programme the day that it could compete with the programme from the other channel. But now, this has become a total obsession. For example, the channel Telecinco, changed the broadcast programme the day before so as to compete with the other channel.

Secondly, and for me the most worrying, channels try to make new programs like programs that have more viewers on the other channel. The bad thing is that the programs with more viewers are the “heart” programs. In these programs there are "journalists" talking about people's personal life, who sometimes go there voluntarily and earn money to talk about their own life.

As I see it, they should be ashamed because they just make trash TV and that is making kids irrespectful to the other people.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm so tired to see every day the same programs, programs that I hate actually, and see that there isn’t anybody who does something to change that, except one or two programs that in fact have even been denounced by those channels. We have to make something to change it.

In conclusion, TV channels are only concerned to make more and more money, and they forget that there are things more important like being a good example for kids.

Into the West

A few months ago, I told you about Cameron Duncan, a New Zeland boy who died because of an osteosarcoma. Cameron inspired a lot of people in the world, and the people of the movie The Lord of the Rings, who made a song inspired on Cameron's story. This song won an Oscar, and today I want to share with you a little video that I made with this song.
It's just a few beautiful pictures with this awesome song: "Into the West". It's just like a personal tribute to this amazing boy.
