The film Pride & Prejudice is a British-American romantic drama directed by Joe Wright and based on Jane Austen's novel of the same name. It stars Keira Knightley who plays the role of Elizabeth Bennet while Matthew Macfadyen plays the role of Mr. Darcy. Both of them are the main characters of this wonderful drama.
The film is set in Britain in the 18th century. It was filmed on location in Britain, France and in the USA.
The film as the title says is about pride and prejudice of love in the 18th. On the one hand, we have Elizabeth Bennet who’s the youngest girl of the Bennet family and they belong to the lower middle class. Unlike her sisters or the women of the 18th, she's not waiting for men to marry with her but rather learn and acquire culture. Elizabeth breaks the stereotypes of that time. On the other hand, we have Mr. Darcy, the typical rich and proud man who belong to the aristocratic class. But what can be happen when love connects completely different two worlds? Can love be more important than the pride and prejudice? If you want to know the answer you should see the film.
I strongly recommend Pride and Prejudice. It has a beautiful story and a very touching soundtrack. What's more, one song of the film is called "Liz on top of the world" and believe me when I say that it makes you really feel like you're on the top of the world.
